VIEW HealthBit XXXVI: AG Triple S (Slimming Satisfying Smoothie)

Ingredients

  • ½ banana
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen pineapple
  • ½ cup frozen spinach (or 1 cup fresh spinach)
  • 1 cup water (or more for thinning)
  • ½ cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp almond butter or sunflower seed butter
  • 1 heaping tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tsp organic extra virgin coconut oil
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 scoop plant based protein powder (I use Metagenics UltraClear Plus or Vega)
  • 1 scoop greens powder (I like Amazing Grass Green Superfood Drink Powder)
  • Ice (about ½ cup recommended)

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender of your choosing (I like Vitamix), starting on a lower setting and slowly moving to top speed
  2. Add ice a few cubes at a time until desired consistency is met
  3. Pour and enjoy in one sitting, preferably as breakfast replacement

Makes 20 oz.

N.B. It is not recommended that smoothies be sipped on all day. Firsty, a lot of its nutrients will degrade over time. Secondly, it is a dentists nightmare. The only thing that should be sipped on all day long is water.
