The new decade that is nearly upon us has inspired me to look at the number “20.” It is amazing how many awesome workout motivators this number holds. Here’s hoping 2020 brings you the health, fitness and happiness you deserve.
Fitness ideas inspired by the number “20”:
- 20 minute HIIT workouts (like this one) can be incredible. That is plenty of time to break a sweat and get your heart rate up.
- Park 20 cars further away than you normally would, and walk.
- 20 minute yoga routines (like this one) will get you stretched, strengthened and centered. In only 20 minutes.
- Take the stairs. On average, we burn one calorie for every 20 steps we take, so make those steps work for you.
- Grab a Groupon. All local classes I found on here amount to less than $20/class.
- Motivate yourself. Hand your partner/friend $20 on the first of the month. If you reach your workout goals by the end of the month, you get it back. If not, he/she just made an easy $20.
- Find a friend and walk for 20 minutes. If you can’t get outside, try this walking video instead.
- Every morning, do 20 push-ups and 20 bicycle crunches (modifications always welcome).
- Number 1-20 on a page. Write down 10 reasons you deserve to be healthy, fit and happy, and 10 things you can do with your renewed fitness level that would otherwise not be able to.
- Do a 20 seconds/reps of each of these CORE FOUR stability exercises (Wall Squats, Rows, Cross Crawl and Forearm Plank) 2-3 times/day.
