VIEW HealthBit XCIX: “Falling” into a New Challenge

I think it’s important to periodically challenge ourselves. I personally find if I do not challenge myself, I start to feel weak, of body, mind and/or spirit. I usually try to pick an area in which I feel I need the most help and make a game of it. Some of these I have done over the years, and still do. Others I have seen others do successfully and find both interesting and rewarding. Below are just 10 examples, in no particular order. Pick one and try it, or find another. If you want extra support just reach out. I firmly believe we must challenge ourselves in order to grow, and growth should be a lifelong endeavor.

Intermittent Fasting: There are few ways to do this but the method I find most practical is to close the window of time in which one eats during the day so that the “fasting” window overnight approaches 15-16 hours

Morning Meditation: There are many ways to do this, and many apps to help.

The Whole30: 30 days of unprocessed food, no alcohol, no sugar, no caffeine, etc.

30 minutes of exercise: Ideally 5-7 times per week.

Food elimination diets: Eliminate one inflammatory food for two weeks and see how you feel.

Couch-to-5K: A reasonable running program with specific guidelines to get you off the couch and running 3.1 miles (yes there is an app for that)

Daily journaling: There is no right way or wrong way, but here is a great guide

Book clubs: Read, talk, learn. Find one, join one, or create one.

Continued Education: This can be anything from local seminars and self-improvement classes, certification courses and advanced degrees

Hour of Power:
20 minutes of exercise
20 minutes of meditation
20 minutes of reading (positive, uplifting material)
