In the 2016 Summer Olympics Michael Phelps made cupping famous when he showed up with round welts all over his back. According to sources cupping began in ancient times, the earliest documentation of its use showing up in Egypt and China. Since then, it has traveled around the globe and can now be found in acupuncturist and massage therapist’s offices alike.
