As I have mentioned in past notes, I had Lyme Disease a few years back. Thankfully I can say I feel quite healthy now, but about a year ago I still had some lingering symptoms and was looking for some answers. Around that time, a chiropractor out west, Dr Jay Davidson took it upon himself to create the Chronic Lyme Disease Summit #2, in which he interviewed various healthcare experts who work with with chronic Lyme disease patients. One of the talks that caught my eye was about parasites. It was a very intriguing, and piqued my interest so much so that I tracked down that parasite guru and got him on the phone.
Dr. Todd Watts was very understanding and as we talked through my then lingering Lyme-related symptoms, namely gut/skin issues and trouble falling back to sleep if woken in the middle of the night. As he says, “Better out than in” when it comes to these buggers. After we finished our chat I was steadfast in my decision to try his parasite cleansing protocol. It seems many cultures have parasite-ridding protocols in place, many of which are even done from childhood.
After researching and tracking down the products he recommended- FYI all are plant-based- along with Dr. Watts’ guidance, I did a two-week version of the full (three-month) parasite cleanse mid-summer 2018. “Better out than in” indeed. I never could have believed what was residing in my intestines if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes. Now having had a number of patients on the cleanse, I have to say the results- and feelings of clarity, improved digestion and better sleep- are no joke.
I am not sharing this to get you to try my cleanse, but instead to bring awareness to a part of our digestive tract that is so often overlooked. We are filled with bugs, the game is always to get good bugs to outweigh the bad. I believe we will be hearing more and more about this as time goes on. Our culture is way behind on this front and we need to start understanding each and every organism that can- and often does- reside in the human body.
