Salt is essential for life. You cannot live without it. However, most people don’t realize there are enormous differences between standard, refined table salt and natural health- promoting salt. These differences can have a major impact on your health. If you want your body to function properly you need holistic salt complete with all-natural elements. Today’s common table salt has nothing in common with natural salt.
Table salt is actually 97.5% sodium chloride and 2.5% chemicals. Dried at over 1200 degrees Fahrenheit, the excessive heat alters the natural chemical structure of the salt. For every gram of sodium chloride that your body cannot get rid of, your body uses 23 times the amount of cell water to neutralize the salt. The average person consumes 4000 to 6000 mg of sodium chloride each day. Eating common table salt causes excess fluid in your body tissue which can contribute to things like:
-Unsightly cellulite
-Rheumatism arthritis and gout
-Kidney stones and gallstones
In contrast, Himalayan crystal salt Contains all of the 84 minerals and elements found in your body. It is actually hydrating and has many other benefits, including but not limited to:
- regulating the water content throughout you body
- promoting a healthy ph balance in your cells, particularly your brain cells
- promoting blood sugar health
- assisting with absorption of food particles in your intestinal tract
- promoting vascular health
- supporting sinus and respiratory health
- helping to reduce the signs of aging
- preventing muscle cramps
- promoting bone strength
- naturally regulating sleep
Side Notes:
Aside from exclusively using Himalayan crystal salt in my cooking and seasoning, I received the following “recipe” over 10 years ago at a seminar. I can’t say I do this daily, but each year at summer’s transition to fall I do this for about a month and I feel it helps re-hydrate me from the summer heat and more salty food choices.
Here is the “recipe.”
-Mix 4tsp Himalayan Crystal Salt with 4 cups water
-Store in a glass container in the fridge and Drink 1oz/day followed by an 8oz glass of water
